Upcoming Release: The Speaker

We have some good and bad news to share with you all.

The GOOD news is that we have an upcoming release of the 2nd book in Andi O’Connor’s YA fantasy series The Vaelinel Trilogy. YAY! *does a happy dance*

The BAD news is that due to issues with the formatter, it still hasn’t gone to print and we don’t have an official release date. 😦

But…we do have some more GOOD news and can share the ebook cover! What do you think? Does it whet your appetite?

Silevethiel just received a great 5-star review from Indie Book Reviews!

“Her way of writing scenes is so descriptive and vivid we really feel like we are in Princess Irewen’s shoes..” -Bella Indie Book Reviews

Dueling Styles

A Game of ThronesSilevethiel has been out for two weeks now, and it’s already received some great feedback and reviews. A few reviewers have commented that the battle scenes in Silevethiel remind them of George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series. I’ve never read any of his books – shocking, I know – but from what I’ve heard about his writing style, I was rather surprised by the comparison.

Have you had the opportunity to read both? Do you see a similarity? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts!

Kirkus Reviews’ Best Books of 2013!

Best of 2013After keeping it a secret for weeks, I’m happy to finally be able to announce that Silevethiel was named to Kirkus Reviews’ Best Books of 2013! I’ve known for over a month and still can’t quite believe it received such a wonderful honor. To see my name in the same category as such brilliant and accomplished authors as Susan Wittig Albert is truly amazing. If you had asked me a year ago if any of my work would ever receive such praise, I would have told you ‘no’. In fact, if you asked me now, I would probably still say ‘no’. For being a new, independent author with only two books to my name, it is difficult to think my work can be viewed as being of the same quality as so many seasoned writers. I can only hope that I will constantly learn and grow as both a writer and publisher, and produce books that continue to affect readers in such powerful ways. For now though, I am simply going to take the last few weeks of 2013 to enjoy this extraordinary honor and be proud of all I’ve already achieved.
