The Legacy of Ilvania continues with the release of REVENGE!
* * *
Juriel’s struggle to save the people of Ilvania continues in this gripping fourth installment of The Legacy of Ilvania!
Completely lost after Jae’s death, Juriel is thrown into his role as healer. She is now the one everyone depends on to control the epidemic sweeping through Ilvania. Without Jae, her efforts are futile. Fueled by her brother’s magic, the disease continues to rage on with greater fervor.
But the epidemic isn’t her only battle. Following the disappearance of one of her fellow healers, Juriel discovers that her family will stop at nothing to see her dead. Beaten and near death, she finds the courage that haunted her in its absence.
Retribution is now available! In celebration, how about a little teaser! This is from the opening scene. Enjoy!
Juriel obeyed. Purple lightning burst from the palms of her hands and bounced harmlessly off of Jae’s shield. Sparks illuminated the tiny room already heavy with the burnt metallic scent of magic.
Jae slithered to his left. Juriel followed his movements, trying to anticipate his next action. His green eyes bore into her, not betraying even the slightest hint of his intentions.
“Again!” Jae barely finished the command when the deep purple lightning once again slammed against his defenses. Unlike Juriel’s previous attempts, the last attack caused his outer shields to quiver. Her magic was more focused. Instead of allowing the bolts to hit him at various points, some missing the mark all together, she’d concentrated her power. All four bolts hit his defenses within a foot’s radius. Jae smiled inwardly. She was getting stronger.
Moving to his right, Jae returned to his previous position. Without warning, he let out his own attack. Blue fire erupted from his hands. Juriel gasped, recoiling when it slammed against her shields. But then it was Jae’s turn to be surprised. It bounced off Juriel’s defenses and shot back towards his own, hitting them with surprising force. The impact caused him to stagger backward, almost knocking him to the ground.
The fire died and the room filled with smoke. When the air cleared enough to see, Juriel’s reaction wasn’t at all what Jae expected She’d collapsed to her knees, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Now, for the update about Coven. I have been going back and forth with the person doing the interior formatting for quite some time. I want the feel of the cover to continue through to the interior of the print book, and it has yet to be achieved. We are working to make sure the version printed represents the vision brought forth by myself as well as the talented authors and cover designer. I am hoping to stay on schedule for the release date of September 29th, but depending on how things go with the formatting, we may release the eBook at that time and push the print release back a few weeks. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I know that Coven will be something we will all be proud of 🙂
Speaking of the eBook! Coven is available for pre-order for Kindle, Nook, and Kobo! Pre-order your copy today and spread the word!
I am so pleased to reveal the cover for COVEN! I think it captures the feel I was going for perfectly. The title, Coven, was chosen because authors gathered together to weave their magic and create this amazing anthology. The cover also lends a bit of mystery, which I think is extremely appropriate. There isn’t a central theme. Each story is different and the reader won’t know what’s inside until they open up the cover and begin reading.
The designer is still working on the full cover, so I will reveal that when it is ready. What do you think of the front cover? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
A huge thank you to all who participated in our poll! You have spoken and decided that the interior font for Coven will be the same for each story! It was a close poll though! The ‘same’ voters won by just two votes!
But don’t get too excited…the task is not complete. Now, you get to decide what font will be used! Click on the link below to see a PDF of the opening of Crystal Silence by Darrel Duckworth in the different fonts, then vote on the one you like the best!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Sorry I missed Teaser Tuesday yesterday, but that means we’ll just have our next teaser today! There are just three stories left to edit for Coven and then initial formatting will begin! Every time I go through a story, even though I’ve read them all numerous times before, I’m continually impressed by the ingenuity and talent of Coven’s authors. There are deep meanings to be found in every single story that will appeal to fantasy lovers and non-fantasy lovers alike. The worlds and characters Coven’s authors have created will stay with its readers and continue to touch them long after they’ve put the book down.
Today, I’m excited to share a short teaser from the opening scene of Crystal Silence by Darrel Duckworth.
Rem fought although he knew it was futile. The Horde had come to their village. They would slaughter everyone. Mutilate their bodies. Destroy their dwellings.
The Horde would not leave until there was nothing but mud piles strewn with pieces of his people.
Editing for Coven had to take a short break because I came down with bronchitis, but never fear! I’m back up and running and editing is full steam ahead! Check out this awesome teaser from the opening of That Was Falling by A. E. Decker! This fantastic short story will be featured in Coven! Don’t miss out!
Jozay had told himself that if he got caught, he’d bear his punishment stoically. But he screamed. Screamed for the agony to stop. And when it didn’t, he broke down in incoherent sobs. The Head Sergeant told Instructor Ferrick to stop after thirty lashes.
*The above quote is from That Was Falling by A. E. Decker.*
The editing for Coven is going extremely well! Three of the seventeen stories are edited and ready for formatting! As promised, enjoy this beautiful and intriguing teaser is from the opening of Shenoa Carroll-Bradd’s The Coral Queen. One of the amazing stories we’re happy to have in Coven!
“The water we glide through grows warmer by the day. Shallower. And as my world gains focus, the ocean floor slowly comes into view. What once was clouded mystery is now suggestions and hints of familiar shapes below us in the dark, which means we’re returning to the place where I died.”
*This quote is taken from Shenoa Carroll-Bradd’s The Coral Queen which will be featured in Coven.*
